Slash region. Select the bars you want, then Shift-R, “slash.”
Pro tip: you can drag the handles to adjust the range for the slash region, and split the region by clicking on a slash and using “U.” Notes hidden behind the slash region are non-destructive.
Slash regions are, of course, for non-specific rhythms. If you want to specify rhythmic patterns, use a slash voice (note input mode, Alt-Shift-V).
