A client sent me the Nelphim font to use for all titles in a multi-song project. I’ve installed and validated the font on my Mac (Sonoma) but it’s not working properly in all applications, including Dorico and MS Word (works fine in TextEdit). I’ve cleared my font cache, reinstalled the font, restarted the computer - no luck. Strangely, it worked in one Dorico file for the Title, but not the composer. In every other Dorico file, it does not work at all.
I’ve changed the Paragraph styles. It shows the new font in the dialog, but the font that actually appears is AcademiChords. When I highlight text in a text box and choose Nelphim, it shows the correct font until I click out of the box. Then it goes to AcademiChords which I’ve never selected in Paragraph styles or anywhere. It seems it jumps to that font because it’s at the top of the list on the font dropdown.
Click next to Font to turn it on and change font or click there and start typing its name, OK. Presumably this is what you did.
Did you try another random font to make sure it changes and is not a problem with the Nelphim font itself.
For the piece where you do have this font selected and working you should be able to compare between them for the various font settings.
This is the only font giving me problems. I’m able to swap out any other font in Paragraph Styles. It’s definitely a font issue that affects Dorico and other apps.
I’m currently driving out of town so I can’t do the screengrab. But to answer your question: yes, the font is listed in the dropdown in Paragraph Styles and I’m able to select it. When I go back to check Paragraph Styles, it is still showing as the selected font. But in the document, it’s using AcademiChords. If I select the text box, highlight the text and use the dropdown there to switch it from AcademiChords to Nelphim, it shows the text in the right font. But when I click out of the box, it reverts back to AcademiChords. Strange.
