Is this a feature I missed? I don’t recall hearing or reading about it.
Interesting: I see this too. It seems that the little box (whose functionality I ignore) is being visualised when the frame height is too little (or almost too little) to accommodate the text (I don’t know what the two dots actually make when chosen…):
Here you see in engrave mode that the frame is almost to little to accommodate the text height comfortably:
