So I need to wrap the text in this box to avoid colliding with the title, but the box isn’t expanding to fit around the wrapped text - any ideas?
See the paragraph style settings; I’m using “Layout Name” as the style.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hi @gdgross, why did you set a negative Bottom padding?:
This may be the culprit, but please upload the Dorico project (or a cut-down version that shows the issue) to analyse what is happening.
Add-on: also I tried to recreate your situation, and with that negative bottom padding value, if I don’t insert a line break between Scarlet’s key and (Orig. F) I have the same result (probably the border drawing is calculated for the whole line of text, as it would appear without the line break, even if the text frame will put the (Orig. F) text on a new line because of its automatic wrapping):
So don’t use negative padding values, and insert a line break before (Orig. F).
Result:
Add-on 2 (not recommended): alternatively, if you for example use a Paragraph Style without a border for that extra text, you could activate the border for the text frame instead, from the properties panel. But the border activated on the text frame will not go outside the left page margin, so you may have a discrepancy between it and the border originated for the layout name by the Paragraph Style (also with this method you don’t need to insert the line break, because all the wrapping will be managed by the text frame, and the shown border will be exactly the border of the text frame):
Thanks Christian, that was it. just needed to insert a return in the text itself rather than forcing it to wrap on its own.
BTW, i made the the bottom padding negative just from adjusting by sight, so that the frame looked even. Not sure why it needed that, but that was the way I got it looking right when i made this template a year or two ago
THanks!
