Thank You! (metadata)

Thanks PG for the enhanced metadata features in WL8. I look forward to trying it out and hope that it’s easy to copy the basic artist/song/ISRC/track # info from format to format within their various capabilities to display such info.

Yeah, that’s a super hot new feature for me as well.

There would be much to say about this topic, because there are many capabilities, and that concern both audio files, audio montage, and batch processing, with ideas to streamline the generation of meta-data. Just a small picture about an important dialog:

Since meta-data has various facets, I hope the new manual will be helpful to you to get the global picture about this.

Thanx PG for this feature, much appreciated here also.

Hi PG,

After working with Jaikoz (metadata tagging software) I realized more clear what I would really love from Wavelab. I think the metadata improvements will cover most of it, but what I would love is for when rendering mp3s is that the mp3 file has all the artist/song name/album name/ISRC/artwork but also if the actual file name has the 01, 02, 03 ahead of the title automatically without having to enter them all manually.

If you notice in your iTunes library, the file names all have the 01, 02 track number before the title, but then in iTunes that is hidden to the user in the song title field.

Also, does WL8 embed the track number in the metadata, song 3 of 12 for example?

Possible

.

There is a new option for this in the Render dialog, when you render multiples files at once. And of course, in the batch processor.

This is possible. But you have to instruct WaveLab to do so thanks to “automatic variables”.
