Thanks Cubase 14 because:

Thanks Steinberg Team because in Cubase 14 you have created a masterpiece with some particular news that I feel like underlining:

  • The modifiers are an incomparable wonder, thank you!
  • Finally I can type the name of the plugin and with the arrow keys select the one in the list without having to press TAB, thank you!
  • Gain staging in this way is now a unique experience, also thanks to the new positioning of the gain slider on the lower area and the combination with the range tool!
  • The pattern sequencer and the drum track are great news, great the possibility of previewing the sample in the cell without loading it, in NI Maschine style, TOP!
  • As a owner of Dorico I really appreciate the new score engine in Cubase.
  • Rearranging the channels on the mixing console today is a big step forward that makes the workflow much easier! Thank you
  • Finally the range tool does not lose the selection after the operation!
  • The session exchange is a warm welcome!
  • The initial version seems solid and stable in everything (watch out for the lock that in the shimmer reverb mix doesn’t work)

All this is added to the other great features that Cubase already has and that today makes it, according to my experience also on other DAWs, the greatest software out there.

I would like to imagine that glorious day when it will be possible to click on the green ball of the window and see it magically go in full screen like all the software in the world, (I’m on Mac)I still hope so.

In the meantime thank you and congratulations for this excellent release

+1 to your appreciations

However:

Do you mean to send the audio of each cell to a different channel? This is possible via the right mouse click on the cells. Same as within Groove Agent.
aha, just learned: and at the Group page of the Drum Machine…

Wow, this is a great news for me, thanks Marco, very happy to know this.
I’ll change my post soon

Add to that list the (alleged) addition of a dedicated directory for project backup files. Folks have been asking for this for ages.

Yes, you’re right, the dedicated folder to backups is a real convenience that has been missing for a long time, finally!

Dark mode (Windows) and underscores in the menus (now my clicking finger can have a rest).

Don’t forget it is now also possible to rearrange tracks from the visibility window!

Not only that, but the backup file has the last two or three performed actions in its name! Pure class.

(The AutoSave, to be more precise)

Not as huge as the aforementioned features, nevertheless worth mentioning: volume insert. Option for higher gain resolution, separate channel control, and nice GUI. Bye third party plugins (which did a nice job, no disrespect).

Thanks for this clear and concise list. I haven’t upgraded to C14, yet, but this thread with its added answers make it enticing. Cheers !

I think you are going to love the new Volume Envelope stuff.

Yep, it’s one of the main reasons for a probably soon upgrade. I am also thinking of the drum tracks with the pattern editor… :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, for the first time in a long time this was a seamless upgrade for me. Finally a lot of the outstanding window style migrations have been done. Love the modulators. Very nice. This is a version that feels very good. It is very obvious to me that the team made great efforts to make this a very solid upgrade. Thank you Steinberg.

And today I want to add the beautiful awesome ruler individual offset options, a great news that once used one time I can’t do without it anymore!
Thanks again
