The bars are all gone

Hello. I want to erase only the selected notes, but all the bars are gone.

Make sure the Time signature isn’t selected before you delete.
Click the first note, then shift-click the last note. Or, select the first note, then Edit->Select to end of flow.
If you select with the system track or use Select all, Time signatures will get selected also.
Or, select all then Edit->Filter->Notes and Chords.

You also deleted the time signature, thus ending up with one long unmeasured bar

Oh, @jesele beat me to it

It certainly is!

I have an additional question. I thought that if I select the time signature and delete the notes, the entire thing would be deleted, but when I tried it again, only the beginning was deleted and the end was left as is. I don’t quite understand this part. The circled part has no bars.

Hey! Please make “signposts” visible, and then you should see that your new bar 2 at the bottom has a hidden time signature.
I think what you did is copy and paste the music from the beginning into that bar, which also copied the time signature.
With signposts visible you’ll see the hidden time signature and then you can delete it. If that’s what you want to do, of course!

I now see you want to delete everything in the beginning? You should have clicked the trash can icon in the system bar, I believe that would have taken out all the bars with music and all.

I reviewed the method you taught me yesterday. This is a normally created score. I didn’t paste it. There is no bar in number 1. There is a bar starting from number 2. Why is that? Even if I show the signposts, the time signature is not visible.

Well, there is a red signpost (=time signature) in your bar 2 at the bottom! It says 2/4, and that is why from that point, there are still bars in your score. If you delete that signpost, ALL bars from the whole piece will disappear. This is no problem for Dorico, it is designed to handle that.
My question is now: What is it you actually want to do to your score? Do you want to delete the first 7 bars? Or just the notes in them?

(A bit) off topic: I told you in another thread that you had to put an uppercase A in Amour, but thanks to @MarcLarcher, I know that I was wrong!

So, the correct spelling of the title is Salut d’amour  Sorry for the confusion.

I don’t know if this is right or wrong because I don’t speak English well. Thank you. I will correct it.

I didn’t delete it on purpose. I just did it as a practice to review what I learned yesterday. It doesn’t mean much. But I was curious as to why the bar line started there. I used Google Translate. Please understand.

I understand. I made a double vertical line, but I forgot. That was the cause. Thank you. I used Google Translate. The translation is not accurate. Please understand.
