The chord diagrams at the beginning of the piece aren't showing up

Hey everyone,
I have a problem. The chord diagrams at the beginning of the piece aren’t showing up. Everything is enabled, and Dorico even shifts the staves down a bit to make room, but the chord diagrams still aren’t appearing above the staff lines—only between the staves, below the chord symbol.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Can you attach the project itself so we can take a look?

Try removing page overrides.

There is only one page

Did you try it? - in Engrave mode.

Yes, yes!

Did it work?

You will need to do that for the score layout and the part layout, and also check in Layout Options that “Show chord diagrams used at start of flow” is enabled for both layouts.

Yes, it worked; everything was enabled in the layout options. The same goes for the part options. I didn’t know about the page breaks—why does Dorico do that anyway? Where can I read up on that?
Thanks

I have a different understanding of what “advanced” and “intuitive” mean

There does seem to be an inconsistency here (@dspreadbury )

If you choose to show diagrams at start before you create a page override. Things behave as expected (subsequent changes to the layout options are reflected on the overridden page, and you can toggle showing/hiding the diagrams)

However, if you create a page override before choosing to set the layout option to show diagrams at start. Only the space for them is created, but they do not display.

How do you set the layout options before creating a page? Isn’t the order supposed to be

  1. Create page
  2. Set layout

That’s how I did it.

Normally you set your layout options (Library>Layout Options) before you enter any notes.

These determine the overall look of each layout (what’s the page size and margins; do you want to use Flow headers or not; how big will the stave be; what the note spacing will be; where will staff labels show; whether you want to allow condensing… etc. etc.)

Of course, you can change these later if they do not suit.
