My “Do not load the following plug-ins” is empty except for an unsuccessful attempt. (see attached)
From the manual it says:
“Do Not Load the Following Plug-ins
Lets you specify plug-ins that WaveLab Pro does not open. Enter the file names, without path and without file extension. Write each plug-in on a new line. If you put the character * in front of the name, any plug-in that contains the name is ignored.”
So I did this. I looked at my huge list of ignored plug-ins and manually wrote in some plug-in names in the “Do Not Load the Following Plug-ins” box (see both attachments) and closed WL10 then re-opened and those plug-ins are still listed in the “ignored plug-ins” list.
My objective is to reduce the number of plug-ins in the “ignored plug-ins” list so I can more easily see the legitimate plugs that indeed need to be re-scanned. Do I need to delete the cache file i.e do a forced re-scan upon start? That alone takes 10 minutes unless I remove all the UAD plugs first.
And speaking of re-scanning, it took 5 consecutive attempts every time highlighting Sonarworks Reference 4, (c>program files> vstplugins) closing WL, re-starting WL and finally on the 5th try, Reference 4 mysteriously showed up. Wavelab 10 for me is like a casino slot machine. Cubase, with the identical file paths has absolutely no issues with this.
So what am I doing wrong with this box that I should be able to simply write in the names unless I need to do a forced scan after writing in the names? In WL 9.5 and all prior versions, this box was populated automatically. I never entered any plug-in names manually.
