The dreaded " PLease Zoom to a resolution lower than 1"

The dreaded " Please Zoom to a resolution lower than 1" is here for me again using the editing tool in the Sampler Editor.

Thing is, the only way I can figure to see the current zoom is by opening the info line (rhs of audio sample editor, then click cog). Is there a better way?

When I look at the value in my current zoom it’s near 400 (uneditable) , and using the edit tool at the FAR lower value of -1 , becomes far too small for pencil edits.

Never really understood this.

Can anyone explain please?

I think you can just check visually, if the zoom is above 1, the waveform is filled with color, if it is below 1, it is just a line.

fese this is a real good tip. Thank you.

Just to clarify for people, what fese means is:

When the audio editor zooms right down what you is a sinusodal wave form revolving around a horizontal line.
If you do not have the info line open and hence cannot see the numerical value of the zoom, then if look at the wave form, the areas either side - the hillocks if you like) are filled when the value is over 1.0 and they are unfilled when the numerical value is less than 1.0.

Note: as the value of the zoom goes up (e.g. hitting the + sign bottom rhs) the numerical value reduces

If you want to convince yourself this is true, open the Sample Editor’s info line (cogwheel top right) and have a play.

Good tip!
