The easy way to delete plugins

I stumbled across this freeware program. Really easy way to me to free up 9gb on my Mac

if you are like me, only use VST3 this program makes it effortless to unload all other formats. I highly recommend you check it out if you need to clean your plugin list.

Hi,

On Mac it’s super-simple. All the plug-ins have strictly predefined location by the system. So you can open the given folder in Finder and simply delete the unwanted formats (AAX, VST2, AU).

On Windows it’s more complicated, as the plug-in vendor can install the plug-in to any location. But it can be also simple. During the installation, allow just the VST3 option.

yes @Martin.Jirsak , but many times all versions are installed like Softube and UA. Arturia is a nightmare if you want to do manual install so just do silent install and remove with this program unwanted versions, way easier.

Yep, some company’s plugin manager simply install everything, whether you have a license or not, and often in several formats, e.g. AAX which I have no use for (Steinberg is guilty of that to), so this might be quite helpful.

I noticed this though: “Plugoff will transition to a premium paid product in the future, but it’s free today for Mac and Windows.”, and while you can download the installer without registering, if you run the program it requires you sign into an account. Not sure why that is supposed to be necessary…
