Dear PG,
I have another problem concerning the markers. Sometimes I write very long comments in the marker that are display correctly in the marker window. But when exporting the markers as a XML, the comments are truncated after 243 characters. Is this something windows-related or is there something “wrong” in the export that you are able to get working in an update?
Thank you and best regards!
Please double check.
Using WaveLab 13.0.30, I could export a marker with a comment of 306 characters, and I found this comment fully in the XML file.
Thank you for the fast test, PG!
I double-checked and the problem still occurs. But I remembered wrong. The comment also gets truncated in the marker-window within wavelab after saving the file, closing and loading it again.
It also depends on how many markers an comments there are, but using about 400 characters in a single marker is not working.
So, sorry for the wrong explanation, but I was very sure that when opening the file I had the coplete marker that was truncated within the excel…
Could you please test:
When you type a few hundred characters in a comment (start-marker of a region), save the wav-file, close wavelab and re-load the file again, are the characters still complete?
Thank you!
Are you using the audio montage? Or audio files?
In audio files, BWF marker comments are limited to 256 characters (by the format).
There is not such limit for the old RIFF marker format, IIRR.
In montage, no limit.
I create the files in the audio montage. And this is why I have the markers without truncation, when I reopen my montage. But as soon as I render the wav-file from the montage, the markers embedded in the wav-file get truncated. And when I reopen this file in the audio editor, the markers in the marker-window are truncated.
So the only possible way to get the full markers is to create the XML from the montage and not from the created wav-file. That’s the normal workflow.
But there is no way to get them embedded in a wav-file without truncation, as it’s not possible for me to use the RIFF format.
Thank you for your fast input and the enlightment in this bwf-topic!
