Absolutely! So it would be good if we could arrange a restaurant date for this celebration, then Steinberg can plan better.
When these features arrives, I’m going to be so drunk on this day.
Even without alcohol.
very sporty! (My studio back doesn’t allow these movements)
Well, we users are extremely capable of suffering and still always smile at the end. And nobody knows why. Rumor has it that some users ended up in psychiatry after updates. But I don’t know any more about it.
Greetings from my padded solitary cell.
Maybe as another feature request, Steinberg should include optional periodic health/safety alerts, like “Looks like you’re enjoying this feature too much, please be careful about doing any backflips in the studio, you might hurt your back…” – or even something nice and thoughtful like – “Looks like you’ve been sitting in the studio all day today, why don’t you go outside and take a nice relaxing walk, and smell the roses?” – or just in case – “It appears you’ve been drinking too much again tonight, how about I text your partner to come pick you up at the studio so you don’t have to drive?”
I mean, health and safety come first, right? Who is Steinberg going to sell licenses to if we’re all breaking our backs, getting diabetes, or driving impaired?
That’s absolutely right, health is everything these days.
And that was the main reason why they removed all the USB-eLicensers behind the computers, because the modern comfortable 24/7 flat screen people could injure themselves if they get up from their studio chair. A company can be sued immediately for something like that, it’s all happened several times before and of course Steinberg knows this.
Hi Tim, we lost the Project Browser from both Cubase and Nuendo, and nothing has been proposed to take its’ place, not even a list-based automation editor.
I not only love the software, I am also beholden to it because of the feature set, and this is the problem, when SB drop things and say nothing about what to do instead.
I worked at a place that had to remove features from their software for a few reasons:
They researched usage and saw that it was a very small percentage of users using it
It required an unreasonable amount of labor to update or maintain the feature.
This former employer wrote a blog post about this explaining their reasoning. It didn’t appease everyone but I felt it was an honest approach. I don’t know Steinberg’s motivations but I they should consider discussing how they are making some of these decisions.
You’re right, however, sometimes we need to drop things because of different reasons (not maintainable anymore, program architecture change, operating systems etc.).
Just wanted to point out here that the intention of this Survey is NOT do drop features.
@TimoWildenhain the “name exactly one feature” question is a bit odd, because there are several essential features for me.
improve Eucon implementation, so it works flawless like in ProTools! This is important due to the EoL of Nuage and the lack of affordable pro controller devices.
the mouse icon doesn’t adapt to the chosen tool (looks like this is only on Mac systems). This makes Nuendo unusable in a fast and professional way. Already talked to the SB support, and they say it is a macOS issue. But for me this can’t be the case a 100%, because I use several different applications on my Mac providing the same functionality (changing the mouse icon when hovering or select tools) and they never fail. So it has to be Nuendo related in some way.
I see it now. Doh! In my own defense, that’s a up chevron, not an arrow - and is most typically used for indicating a collapsing menu or the like. Did not explore that as I was not looking for the back button in a collapsable menu. Please tell me this survey was not designed by the N14 GUI team.
That’s a fair statement however, the Project Browser allows list-based automation editing, which is unavailable anywhere else in the application(s) so I believe this ability in the very least needs to be guaranteed, on the final release on Cubase and Nuendo 13,
Thanks for asking for our opinions and suggestions, appreciated.
I asked for freezing tracks up to a certain insert slot so we can keep adding plug-ins to the track and I also wish render in place had an option to render with FXs baked in but pre-fader/pan.
