Got it. Thanks!
One more question, Ben. I’m working on an opera and would like to do the full score like you have here. What size page did you use?
My problem is that if I use a smaller page when I have fewer musicians playing, then hide the empty staves, my performers can see the music well, but when I need the full score for the full ensemble the note size becomes very small.
I don’t understand the page layout process well enough to balance the two in one document.
Am I explaining this well?
I would use a larger size page (17x11" in my case) for the full score, but a smaller size (12x9" ?) for the instrumental parts and piano/vocal score. Dorico lets one define different page sizes for different layout/instruments.
NotePerformer doesn’t have a sound for Bass Oboe.
Yes - it doesn’t have a “Bass Oboe” - so it substitutes a standard oboe for playback purposes. This is par-for-the-course when it comes to sound libraries that don’t have a particular “special” instrument. If you have a library that does have a Bass oboe - you can easily patch that in manually in Dorico. ![]()
Okay.
