Just bought ‘The Thing’ and got this message when instaling. Any ideas anyone?
Did you try the instruction it gives in the message?
Thanks for getting back Grim, I think I did. Can see it in all the right places (Activation, Library, .exe file on PC etc, but not in Cubase itself. Yes, clicked on the installer file too. It’s not listed in my eLicencer though?
So you look in Users/kevin/Downloads/Steinberg…and can see a file that has a name like The Thing? And double clicking it isn’t running the install?
What exactly is happening when you do that?
No, it’s not there. I found it in C:/Users/kevin/Downloads/WIN64/TheThing. When I click on it, it takes me to Library Manager and tells me it’s already there, and it is, under Cubase/Nuendo tab. When I click on the The Thing ‘Details’ for location, it says C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound\VST Sound - Noise Design\ The_ Thing.vstsound.
Oddly, I’ve just found I can access it in Cubase and it seems to work through my instruments. Bizzare!

Well I guess you’ll know not to trust him next time he tells you anything.

Wouldn’t expect it in elicenser…as a new product it will use activation manager.
