Third Party Plugin On Blacklist

Hi

I have a Third Party plugin that has been used in Cubase Pro 14 and some previous versions

Cubase Pro 15 has blacklisted it.

Is there any reasons version 15 would do this ? Should I re-install ? or, does this mean it can’t be used any more ?

You can either try un-blacklist the plugin (most of the time that works fine in my experience and it doesn’t necessarily mean that the plugin will crash), or check if there is a new version of the plugin available from the developer that doesn’t get blacklisted.

Thanks. I don’t understand what’s changed between 14 Pro and 15 Pro to cause this .

Have you selected VST2 in the plug-in manager?

Hi, Thanks for the input,

It’s a VST3 Plugin but yes I’ve got VST2 enabled a I have a couple of old plugins I use.

Hi,
what’s the name of the plugin?

Things always change in computer world :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. Maybe Steinberg introduced a couple more checks in the plugin scanner…

I didn’t say because it’s a Steinberg problem and thought we’d go off the subject.

It’s a lot easier if you tell the name of the plugin.
Don’t worry, the people here will try to figure out the part of the issue that is Cubase related nonetheless

Sorry I know I shouldn’t ask but here goes.
Why is this a Steinberg problem and not about the “3rd party plug-in” that shall remain nameless?

Because it works in all the Steinberg DAW’s apart from Cubase 15 Pro

Yes, indeed.

Hi, I also noticed this, although I don’t have an explanation for why this happens in Cubase 15 and not 14, you can click on the plugin on the blacklist, and then click Reactivate at the bottom, that should work for most plugins.

Thanks I’ve got rid of the plugin. It was a vocal plugin but i’ve tried that many and the Steinberg one does the job OK.
