This ia a wierd one.!

OK I was in score editor because i needed to add some slurs to certain notes.

My original score was done in Musescore 4.7++++++ and the Violin 2 part only has one stave.

In scores in Cubase I now have two staves with a bracket showing Grt which i know is Great on an Organ score.

However each time i add a slur it splits them across two bars, corrects the mistake it made several bars before but now reappears again so many bars ahead.

I don’t know how this has happened by i copied over the midi score from musescore to her like i have normally done for yonks and now this!

In the first bar the first four notes should be slurred. But when i slurred the 3rd set of slurred notes the slur is corrected here and part of the next bar where the slur goes wrong on the 3rd set again and so on…

1) There shouldn’t be a second stave

2. the Slurs go wrong every other bar.

What I want to do is merge the two staves together without loss of notes or data etc…

Is there a way to merge both staves as one?

No there are no prizes for guessing where this came from it is part of Zadok the Priest.

I seem to have fixed part of this.

I got some help from AI so not all my own doing.

1 select all the notes in your track.

Next SOLO it important it says.

Next in the main screen click on Midi and then Midi Merge to loop.

Yeap I know I am thinking why? But in the instructions, I located further down the line from AI what you are doing is creating a new track and deleting the old one. But you don’t want to lose any saved messages that you have put on your track like articulations, VST settings, stems etc.

I didn’t erase destination in case the old track might be required.

Press ok.

I went back into my score and it still wasn’t right as it was set over two staves still.

Next in the score page i noticed that there is a setting called cross staff.

I selected this

From here i selected reset to original staff but a few stragglers were cross-baring!

Back to Score again and selected score settings.

In here you can change the sections and instruments.

Here i used Strings and Violin.

When you click OK you will find that you Violin 2 part is now as it should be!

To be honest i didn’t know where to put this one in the manual. My search on the internet explained what had happened and brought me to the forum.

The Grt is Grand which technically is the same as Great on English pipe organ. Why the violin part was noted as Grt I don’t know. It could be some error in Musescore methinks as it has had a recent upgrade.

I hope this makes sense. In Musescore this is easier because you highlight and merge. it could be that Musescore has retained that piece of code in the final export.
