Three beats in a bar instead of four

More than once, while I cut and paste I have tree beats in a bar, see picture bar 44 , while my piece is in 4/4. Anyone knows why that is? And how do I resolve it quickly without deleting that bar and add a new one? Thanks in advance

How do you cut and paste? It’s certainly not “normal” to have those unfilled bars, but it’s not something that happens on its own…

I think you should try and describe very thoroughly the process you’re using, so that we can help you improve the steps that can be improved. :folded_hands:

It appears you have pasted an eighth note earlier than intended. Could that be the problem?

Thank you both for your quick reply. Let me check what Derrek said.

Can anyone explain me how to write a simple slur before a note. Jazz/latin hornplayers requiere this notation a lot! Is there a quick way to write it?

Do you mean a scoop?
scoop

There are lots of Jazz ornaments in the right hand ornaments panel…
(You can also enter these using the ornaments popover (eg shift-O scoop)

Dankeeeee, Janus. Thank your, for your super quick and right answer!! :slightly_smiling_face:

I think the 3 beat measure will disappear if you select the second red flag 4/4 q 1+1+1+1 and delete it, sometimes if you press delete it will not go away in that case you can try edit - cut and never paste it anywere you can delete both red flats I think.

Try the following:

  • Enable Insert Mode (press I).
  • Double click the time signature signpost of the bar with the missing crotchet to open the popover.
  • Press Return.
  • Disable Insert Mode (press I).
  • Delete the signpost (if possible).
