I was pretty certain you can tie between voices. This just wont go. Why? Its piano, all treble staff.
When there are multiple voices, you need to select both the starting note and the ending note of the chain before pressing T.
And don’t use shift. Select the first note, then cmd-click the second note. (ctrl-click on Windows, I guess)

I know all this hence my query. I am not a complete beginner.
But its actually an error in my voicing I couldn’t see. I left out a crucial rest. Sometimes these things can take an hour to see. Sorry.
