Treble clef example from real-time midi input in the first image. When I click on the C-natural and press 6 I expect it to become a quarter note and the G to remain as is. Instead the G is changed to a quarter note too. The last image shows the expected result. I know how to get what I want, but it takes several steps. Why doesn’t this way work?
This would only work with chord mode (Q) engaged.
Without it, the 2nd half of the C-nat will overwrite the last quaver of the G. This is expected behaviour.
Ah, Chord mode. I always forget about that. Even so, I think what I was trying to do should work outside of chord mode. That’s what I would expect to happen.
You and @Janus are using “expect” in different ways. He’s stating simply that, as this is how the software is designed, the outcome is to be expected. You’re using it in the sense of expecting that the design would (“should”) be different.
