the HELP site states that D2 is autom. creating tie notes.
But no info how to do it manually. When I create normal slurs I still get separated notes on playback.
How do I create notes longer than a whole? Or how do I edit existing over-lengths?

I don’t know which page you were previously reading.
In pretty much all cases (whether inputting new notes, or selecting a chain of existing notes, or Cmd/Ctrl+selecting various notes from different voices), you just hit T.
oh man - I was in the INPUTTING TIES section.
The help can be confusing
You’ve just linked to exactly the same page I previously linked to, which is indeed the “inputting ties” page. I’m none the wiser…
