curious, why are the ties in this image different? Why is the second note of Oboe 1 tied from below and then above; while Oboe 2 is straight-up from below?
(I’ve posted it in colour to emphasise that both oboes are in the same Voice).

If you select that top bar and go Edit > Reset Appearance, you’ll probably find the first tie flips up.
That worked — but why didn’t it do this automatically?
Did this originate as MusicXML import, perhaps? If so, the answer will be in Preferences > MusicXML Import.
