I’d like to maintain the two written notes (picture) inside a 3/4 bar. But as soon as I create a tie, the first note becomes a dotted half note. I found no way to retain the scheme of an half note tied to a quarter…
are we able to write harmonics for string changing the upper notehead?

Hit O to engage the Force Durations button in the toolbox (the one that looks like a G clamp) and you’ll then be able to type in durations that Dorico won’t interfere with. Use this sparingly, as a lot of Dorico’s power comes from its ability to renotate the music in response to changes in meter and position within the bar, etc., and when you force the durations you are tying (no pun intended) Dorico’s hands to some extent.
