Time delay on MIDI tracks

Hi everyone,

I have a time delay problem when recording MIDI data in to Cubase 4.5.2 from my Novation Remote 61SL keyboard. It all sounds fine while recording but when I play it back the MIDI track lags way behind my audio tracks.

With a buffer size of 128ms and a sample size of 16, the ASIO mLAN control panel shows an Input latency of 3.424ms and an Output Latency of 7.596ms. However, to correct the timing problem after the track has been recorded, I have to adjust the track offset value to -136ms so it plays in sync. This value goes to something like -330ms for a larger buffer size. I suspect it might be something very simple but I’m struggling with a steep learning curve here - it’s all new to me!

Does anyone know how I can correct or compensate for this time lag so all my MIDI data plays back in time? Any help will be gratefully received.

Hoping someone can help  many thanks in advance

Sounds like good old Windows MIDI timestamp problem.

Tick “Use System Timestamp” options on Devices | Device Setup | Midi Port Setup
