Just thought I would throw this out. I happily discovered that my seemingly random and unexplained VST meter spikes disappeared after disabling a freeware utility called F.lux. The utility will adjust your monitor’s color temperature based on time of day. A neat tool, but I was pleased to can it when I figured this one out.
