with just one “flowTitle”
so why do I get this title duplication in my score?
I’m using a very simple alteration of the default page template (where I added additional tokens at the foot of the page).
Your flow heading appears to be overlapping the page running header. Can you post the Dorico file for that page?
That looks like a Flow Heading.
A Flow heading can be turned on or off in Layout Options > Page Setup > Flows.
But it normally sits at the top of the Music Frame; and it looks like your music frame is overlapping the page header text frame.

You are quite correct, my flow headings were visible.
I don’t know how I did that as my page template changes should have been confined to adding some “tokens” at the bottom of each page. But maybe I invoked some additional option I should not have touched.
Not an option per se, but you probably (inadvertently) dragged the entire music frame up a bit, making it flush with the margin, which is difficult to see with the overlapping frame borders. Seeing that Tan Yn losgi is flow number 2, maybe you do in fact want the flow heading there. In that case you will have to edit the page template so the top of the blue music frame doesn’t collide with the header.
