The page layout, master page, project info stuff, etc. is for now very daunting. I’ll have to get with my tutor. Meanwhile, if I want to take the lazy way out, can I erase all of the “{@____@}” tokens and simply enter my text material into the score manually?
First of all, there are loads of videos on page layout, tokens, templates and all. It’s well worth having a look.
You can just work on page 1, delete all the tokens, and just write in the text yourself. But it makes it more difficult to make changes; and you’ll need to repeat it over and over for every instrumental part, if you’re doing those.
You can save the Page Templates for use in other documents, so if you’ve got it exactly how you want it; then you don’t have to change a thing, and it’s much faster.
Patrick, yes you can do so, if this is the last score you’ll ever write. If you need similar settings for another project or more scores, or if you want to make sets of parts for performing musicians, don’t do it! Instead try to get familiar with editing the page templates. As mentioned above, there are wonderful videos explaining this. I am sure, your tutor has seen them all
[edit] I noticed, you are already on the right path: Items in Project Info do not appear on the score
you talked me into it. I’ve done a lot with dorico since switching from Finale, but this one really stumped me. I’ll go back to the tutorials and walk myself through them in the score.
