if we could get a function where you can highlight multiple tracks and drag a plugin from another track or from the browser onto one of the highlighted tracks and it populates across all of the highlighted tracks, and a function to collapse plugins into a lower zone like in bitwig and fender studio, do this and i promise people will be flocking to this daw , one more thing splice integration 100%
I don’t know about the dragging part (I don’t have Cubase open at the moment to try it), but Cubase’s Quick Link (Q-Link) function in the MixConsole makes it easy to add the same plugin to selected tracks, not to mention muting/soloing the tracks, making relative fader adjustments, and much more – even making plugin parameter changes across those tracks (though there are some limitations on that part, especially when using presets within a plugin).
To try this out for simply adding a plugin and setting initial parameters to match across all instances, go to the MixConsole, select the tracks you want to affect, engage the Q-Link button, then insert a plugin into one of the selected channels. It will only open one instance of the plugin, at which point, you can make changes to the parameters within that instance, and it will affect the instances in all selected channels. (If you don’t want to make the same changes across channels, either disengage Q-Link after that or unselect the channels whose plugin instances you don’t want to get the same changes.) I use this a lot for setting up background vocal tracks. Not only for the plugin setup, but also making sure all the tracks are going to the same group track (if I didn’t think to set that up when creating the tracks), setting any high-cut/low-cut/gain parameters, etc. I do have to remember to turn Q-Link off when making pan changes, though. ![]()
BTW, you might want to consider adding a feature request tag to this post and making the subject more line more descriptive.
