To hide one rest but not another

What might be the best way to hide the crotchet (quarter) rest for the voice at the beginning of the bar, but to keep the quaver (eighth) rest at the beginning of the triplet? So far I’m only able to get what’s in the screenshot if I hide rest(s). My instinct is to hide the crotchet rest but to keep the quaver one. Am I wrong? Is what Dorico is doing right? Is there a simple way in Dorico to achieve what I thought I wanted? (If indeed I really do want it.)

If I understand you correctly, you can click/select individual rests and remove them one at a time in the Edit menu; the Remove Rests command does not have to be applied to everything.

Is the triplet really a 3:2 triplet?
By default, having entered the music quick&dirty the triplet is supposed to appear

I just hid the crotchet rest on beat 3 by enabling Ends Voice on the last triplet note.
To hide the rest on beat 1 enable Starts Voice on the quaver rest.

Thank you. both. Starts Voice seems to have worked for me this time round, but for some reason (me!) it didn’t before.

I’ll get there!
