I have a M Vave Chocolate Bluetooth controller connected via Bluetooth with an expression pedal connected to it. An audio track with an amp and wah pedal (separate plugins) as vst plug-ins set up in Cubase 11 AI. An instrument track with the audio track routed to it. The expression pedal works fine. I can record automation etc. However I can’t seem to get any of the 4 buttons on the controller to be assigned to bypass or power on/off of the wah pedal. I’ve tried quick controls and that gets me part way, but I can’t seem to get the bypass or on/off buttons in the wah pedal plugin to be assigned to the controllers buttons. In other standalone programs like Amplitube, this works. It’s probably the fact it’s a plug-in is where I’m probably missing a step or am using the wrong procedure.

Tried inspecting the parameters that your plugin exposes to the DAW?
For example, if you click on “QC” of the plugin window, and then click on the first parameter appearing, can you see in the dropdown list, a “byPass” or an “On/Off” element? If yes, you can select it and midi learn the corresponding QC to your controller. If there’s not such option, things can get nasty. It’s doable using the MIDI Remote, but the procedure won’t be that direct.

There is no QC in the plug-in window of the wah pedal. It’s a free plugin so that’s what we’re dealing with. However, there are drop down options under the Bypass button which allows me to assign the Bypass to a QC slot which is what I’ve done initially. I was just messing around with it before hopping onto the forum and was able to get it to toggle on/off, however I had to hit the midi pedals button twice for it to work. Right now I’m suspecting it’s the programming with the pedals software. In one mode I can get it to toggle the wah on/off by hitting the button on the controller twice but the pedal works in reverse, even if I switch/reverse the parameters in the software, and in another mode the pedal works correct but the toggling it on/off doesn’t work. I’m a novice with midi and programming things so bare with me. Thanks
