Tonalic Cubase Chord Voicing/Extension Issue

So, I’ve seen a YT video where the reviewer also complains about this. Tonalic is supposed to read the Chord Track and yet appears to invent chord extensions that aren’t there, even though they are not implied by the chord (e.g. adding a 9 to a Dominant-7 chord is forgivable).

Specifically, I have a track where the first chord is E, and it is written as such in the Chord Track. The Tonalic Acoustic Guitar strummed part I have inserted plays E7! This is completely inappropriate harmonically for the first chord of the song, and is not implied by the chord or the scale in the Chord Track. Yes, I manually added “E Major” as the scale in the Chord Track, but Tonalic still plays E7, completely ignoring the scale instructions.

I don’t have the Studio version, so I can’t go and edit the note blobs, and even if I did, why should I have to?

Just as an fyi, Tonalic isn’t a Steinberg product, just a shared promo thing with Celemony.

Yes, thanks Steve, that’s a good point! I guess the issue I’ve raised above is probably a Tonalic bug, but it’s hard to know whether the problem is the integration with Cubase Chord Track or a bug in their software.

Also, I don’t use the chord track much, so maybe I’m missing something obvious…?
