Too many audio drop outs I can't record

Hello my version of Cubase is 12 artist, I have tried many things, updated my audio interface, tried different buffering sizes, nothing seems to work.

I use a farely good laptop, have 16 GB of RAM, I don’t know what the problem is, I need help, sometimes it won’t even let me record for more thant 2 seconds it’s awful.
I also tested it on reaper and there I have 0 dropouts…

Hi, @Beana ,
Let’s have some details of your system:
What’s your OS?
Audio interface?
CPU?
What are you recording? And how?

And have you optimised your laptop for audio? Do you use the steinberg power plan?

This thing?
Also I think I did optimised it, but I have been dealing with this for so long I kinda forgot everything that I tried.

Hello! Here are de details!

  • Microsoft Windows 11 Home
  • Focusrite gen 3 scarlett solo
  • Processor AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics, 3801 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
  • I am recording vocals, I tried doing it with no plug ins at all just one track nothing added and it still has drop outs.

I not too hot when it comes to trouble shooting audio - lucky enough never to have had any.
But, have you tried using LatencyMon to see if there are any hardware issues?

Although the RAM info is missing, from what you said, it has to be a hardware issue.

Buffer settings?
Which ASIO driver?
Buffer size?

The OP has 16 gigs, it’s in the first post. I also was thinking of hardware.
