I know this is a grade 1 question but I’m in a mode where the row of buttons on the top left that say
Setup Write Engrave Play Print
have disappeared in Write mode. Fortunately, I know to press Cmd+2 to get there, but I want to see the buttons. I don’t know what I did to shut it off. I’m sure someone will tell me.
Try cmd+6.
Cmd+6 worked!
I knew it was a simple navigation trick, but I just didn’t know what to do.
So what exactly is the name or function bound to Cmd+6?
I’ll memorize that.
Problem solved. Thank you very much.
Window > Show Toolbar
Got it. Another thing to memorize cold. I’m sure I looked all up and down the Window menu. Sigh. Actually, I looked at the View menu more closely.
Thank you. Onward.
Note that 6 is top, 7 left, 8 bottom and 9 right. And 1-5 are used to toggle modes (Setup to Print). This should be quite logical to memorize ![]()
Yep I remembered 1-5 from a tutorial. I’m still learning the ins and outs of Dorico, fortunately rapidly, but some fundamental stuff like basic navigation I’m still mastering, so sometimes I ask beginner questions when I get stuck.
Now I know Cmd + 6-9. That’s easy. Thanks.
Also, Cmd + 0 (zero) hides/shows all three (currently open) panels.
