Toontracks EZKeys - any users? A question or two

Hi,

Lifelong piano player here, currently playing keys in a band.

I’m wondering if EZKeys would be good for the following:

  • I’d like to expose myself to different kinds of music I might could bring to performances. For example, we went out last night to hear a band, and the keyboardist was playing Latin-sounding solos over non-Latin music. It sounded great! I want to learn a bit about how to play Latin solos, to start working that style into our performances.
  • People think I’m pretty good at boogie-woogie, rockabilly type music - for example, anything and everything Jerry Lee Lewis did, or the piano intro to “Rockin’ Pneumonia”, or the OMG piano part on Stevie Ray Vaughn’s “The House is a Rockin”. But I know I’m only faking it, and I want to get better (for example, playing more than two notes at a time for right-hand solos).

I was wondering if anyone knew which EZKeys MIDI packs would be best for those two kinds of things? By listening to some examples on the Toontrack website I have identified “Latin Cuban” as possibly one MIDI pack to target, but maybe there’s a better one?

And as far as the Rockabilly-type piano I exampled above - I listened to the “Boogie” EZK MIDI pack, and it’s darn close, but somehow it doesn’t quite seem to land squarely on what I’m looking for - anyone know of another one that is similar I could listen to and possibly buy?

(Yes, I know all this would mean purchasing EZKeys itself, at least I think that’s true, but as Billy Joel said, “I have been a fool for lesser things …”, and I could see using other MIDI packs to expand my repertoire further) .

Thanks for any suggestions and recommendations!
