This issue persists for several versions and years:
- an automation lane with no automation data
- start writing automation in touch mode
- when you stop writing automation, the value should return to the initial value, but it doesn´t
This is true for touch automation and for automation with “fill loop” turned on.
The manual states:
“When no automation data exists for a particular parameter, the starting point of an
automation pass is saved as the initial value. When you punch out of the automation pass, it
is this initial value to which the parameter will return.”
