I’ve been doing research on using Nuendo with a Touch Screen. The forum search window shows posts over ten years old asking for this feature/support or, in the case of DTouch the return of this feature from N12, on.
In most cases, these threads are just “shouting into a black hole” with very little, if any replies from the group or response from the moderators. So, my question is WHY is this such a taboo subject. There is clearly a desire/need for this option as indicated by the constant returning of the subject every few months and every year.
I would like to use a small touch screen cloning my project window so that I can write automation with a stylus, as opposed to fighting with that awkward pencil tool which is being controlled by a mouse/keyboard. This is not a new concept. I remember engineers using touch screen sections of the master section on SSL consoles to do this very thing. How are we 35 years + out still asking for this in the 21st Century?!!?
Please chime in with your thoughts on this. But, if anybody knows, is it at least possible to use a touch screen on the project window of ANY iteration of Nuendo for my expressed purpose?
Wouldn’t things be incredibly small in a 10” screen for displaying everything in a project?
From what you are describing I think you’d be better served using a pen tablet like the Wacom Intuos Pro or something. This way you can control your mouse cursor like a pen, but looking at a big sreen. It is what they use for drawing digitally, and I’ve tried it for spectral editing and it was great for the drawing part. Not so much for the rest of the mouse functions, but you can always have both at the same time and use each one according to your need.
You are correct. That’s EXACTLY what I was trying to describe. But I didn’t know what it was called! Thanks so much. Now, I can research this device for compatibility, availability and price. Thanks again.
