Dear all,
I’ve been struggling for a while to figure something out with which I hope you can help me, should you have the time to spare.
I have been using TouchOSC to simultaneously control both RME TotalMix and Cubase Pro 10.5 at the same time using an iPad Pro and a MacBook Pro (Catalina) for a while sending MIDI to both software over dedicated channels. It has worked effortlessly over Bluetooth on my past setups.
Now I still have my iPad pro, but I have migrated my Cubase 10.5.3 setup to a Win 10 Pro (v. 10.0.19042) PC. Here, I can make it work from iPad to TotalMix over USB after installing iTunes on my PC but Cubase does not respond to the MIDI commands sent to it. I have followed the TouchOSC installation instructions and I have Googled/YouTubed it for a couple of weeks without solving it. I can’t figure out why it works with TotalMix but not with Cubase. Does anyone here, with more experience with Windows 10, have any insight to share with me? (My TouchOSC contains over 300 commands (JunkieXL style) so I’m not very eager to migrate to a different software at the present.)
When I, in Cubase, reset the generic remote, it sends data to set the faders in my TouchOSC, but that is the only thing I can make happen.
I’ve also tried to set up rtpMIDI following the website instructions but it does not connect to the iPad either. And all firewalls are down on my PC. I’ve opened ports on my router. I sense there is something Win-specific here that I, having been a Mac user for years, am not understanding. All the data in the Generic remote XML file and my TouchOSC are the same as when everything worked properly on my Macbook Pro setup. I’ve double-checked.
Thank you in advance.
All best,
Robin
