Track and VST Hell

Hi.

I have been editing duets with 2 voices and piano, Dorico 6 and NotePerformer. Everything was working until…

1. I changed the port configuration to remove voices I was not using. Given I am working on duets I moved the piano to port 1 channel 1 (was channel 2), the mezzo from channel 5 to 2, and the tenor from 6 to 3, removing the remaining ports. This made a mess of the expression maps. So,

2. I changed VST plugins, adding Pianoteq and Kontact. This made a bigger mess. So I reverted to NotePerformer. However

3. Now when I click on the “e” (that says “NotePerformer”) it comes up with the plugins I have previously loaded (as shown).

   

How can I revert to having just NotePerformer and get myself out of this mess? Currently nothing is playing and that is not good!

Woopsie!

Solved my problem by “Play/Playback Template…” Highlight “NotePerformer” hit “Apply and Close”

Reset everything nicely. Whew!

Issue 3 has been reported before, but it seems the issue is left unresolved.

Playback in Dorico 6.2

Sometimes. Happens to any VST. I have just reproduced with Dorico 6.1.10. Launch Dorico Open a project (that created long time ago) Wait until all the VSTs are loaded Go to Play tab Click add VST At this point, if the bug is hit, things have already went wrong (the index in the window title is incorrect) [CleanShot 2026-03-27 at 21.19.22@2x] “18 - Kontakt 8” is the one I just added, but window title shows “19”.
