Track completely disappears when dragged from Lower to Upper Track List in C14

System Info:

  • Cubase Version: Cubase 14.0.41.374

  • OS: macOS Tahoe 26.6.2

Issue Description: When using the “Divide Track List” feature, dragging and dropping a track from the lower section to the upper section causes the track to completely disappear from the UI. The track vanishes from both the project window and the Visibility tab. It does not get placed into a folder, and adjusting scrollbars does not reveal it. Interestingly, dragging a track from the upper section to the lower section works perfectly fine.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Enable the “Divide Track List” feature.

  2. Select a track located in the lower track list.

  3. Click and drag the track into the upper track list. (The green drop indicator line appears normally, showing it is ready to be placed).

  4. Release the mouse button to drop the track.

Expected Result: The dragged track should seamlessly move and become visible in the upper track list.

Actual Result: The track disappears completely. It is no longer visible in the main window or the Visibility tab. The ‘Undo History’ logs this action as “Move”, indicating the track is not deleted, but its UI index seems to break, rendering it completely invisible.

Hi,

I can’t recall that any such behaviour was reported in the forum before. Hence, I would suggest to start with preferences disabled just to rule out it has something to do with corrupted preferences.

You probably know already…
Please, start Cubase and hold down Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-Alt/Opt.
Now, pick the second option in order to temporarily disable program preferences.

After “deleting” the track please have a look into the project undo history (Edit menu). What is displayed as the last couple of steps?
Can you post it as a screenshot?

Often happens in C15 too.

This seems to be a bug related to the Track Visibility feature specifically. I’m saying that because I tested it several times with multiple tracks, folder tracks here and it doesn’t happen in Elements 15, which is the version without the feature (the feature is only available in Artist and Pro)

I figured out that the disappeared tracks were moved to Another Folder Track…
I don’t know why but it happens.
