When I have a track with multi out channels how do I change the Track control settings so that icons occupy a narrower space?
How can I add or remove icons to this type of track?

Highlight the tracks, right-click, and select track controls settings. The resulting window will provide options to remove control items, or other adjustments including the width for the track name.
In your example above, the space to the right of “EZDrummer”, “kick” and “snare” is probably empty because it’s space reserved by the Track Name Width variable which you can change.

no, in my case it selects the group/effect category and modify those tracks but not the multi out ones.

I did not check that specific setup until just now. Initially I get the same result on the multi-out tracks as you, but oddly, after a couple of attempts I get the Track Controls Settings screen option, but the track width adjustment only affects the main instrument track, not the related multi-out tracks (even when right-clicking a multi-out track).
Anyway, by hovering over the multi-out track name you can highlight and see the space allocated for the track name, which explains why the options buttons aren’t further left.
It looks to me like Track Controls was never implemented to work on sub-groups, unless I’m wrong. But looking back at previous versions, I don’t think this was ever working.
so it is indeed a bug, why wouldn´t those tracks inherit the parent track settings or have their own ones?
Not implemented is not a bug, its a feature request.
