Track/Focused Quick Controls Activate/De-Activate

I have a Sparrow x8 100 midi fader that I’ve setup up three maps for: Focus Quick Controls / Track Quick Controls / no mappings.

At first I wanted to see if I could bypass the FQC easily somehow but the only way I found to turn them off was to change the mapping. So I thought well, let’s add a button to the Sparrow to change the mapping. In the mapping assistant there is a function there is a function that sends the controller to the next/previous map but I couldn’t reliably set any of my faders to work with this on/off type toggle switch (tried all the different switch/button types as well as midi types and values). So this was somewhat of a failure. I would hope that if I had a controller with a button that I could get this functionality to work but cannot confirm.

Then I thought well, let’s try the TQC. Not exactly what I was hoping for but at least there’s a handing on/off switch right there in the inspector panel. I set up another mapping for the Sparrow for TQCs but unfortunately I cannot get them to Activate/De-Activate using the button for whatever reason.

Looking through old threads here I found some people suggesting that I try the options under the VSTi window (the gear cog at the top, the little know on the individual instruments in the bottom right) but nothing seemed to work.

Is there anyone out there who has gotten this activate/de-activate button to work? Can anyone suggest any other methods for bypassing the FQC other than opening the mapping assistant and choosing a blank mapping?

I should also mention that I have a Native Instruments S88 MK3 script activated as well one for the Metagrid Pro - Commands. Is there any chance that these might mess with this functionality?

Cheers
