Track recording issue

Hello,
I connected my new iMac with brandnew Cubase 12pro to my Yamaha MGXUF USB audio interface. I can hear everything on the speakers, which mean that the signal is going in the interface and is coming out (as the output is going to monitor boxes). Also I can play older projects without problems. However, Cubase does not recognize the input signal, so I can’t record.

I checked the studio settings. There the interface is set as the Asio Driver. So these settings are OK
I checked audio connections also. I can select left and right and stereo, seems also fine.

In my old Mac with cubase AI it worked fine. But now it seems I’m missing something

Any ideas what I could have missed?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Make sure Cubase has enabled Mic in the System Preferences, please.
Open macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone. Enable Cubase here.
