Track "selection sets"

Hello,

Is there a way to create “selection sets” for tracks?

In other words, let say you select a bunch of tracks. Can you record that selection as some kind of UI object so that when you select it, it selects all its member tracks at once, and you can add or remove tracks from that set? The member tracks could be anywhere in the project. Really it’s just a way for tracks that need frequent selection to be faster to select.

The use case is that when I’m recording, I like to hide a lot of stuff, from various places in my projects. However, if I need to access one of the hidden tracks, I can only unhide all hidden tracks, do what I need to do, select back all the tracks to be hidden, and then re-hide them.

This can be a bit time consuming. Instead, I’d rather have a named set to which I have added the tracks I want hidden, so that when I need to re-hide tracks I can simply select that set (which would select the tracks automatically) and perform the hide.

Perhaps this feature already exists but is known under a different name.

Thanks!
Bernard

Hi, one way to do this would be to create channel visibility configurations in the Mixer Console. We can see the configuration in the related combo box. But this implies that we have to use the Mixer Console, not the Project Window.

Another way would be to add these sets of tracks inside dedicated folders.

Finally you could implement a specific name format for targeting it using Project Logical Editor, for example, say, we have a set of tracks that all contain “Bass” in them and so on…
