Track Versions - a Command that combines "Duplicate" and "Rename" Functions

Hi -

Currently my workflow is to:

  1. Rename a Track Version from “V1” to something meaningful, like “Need to Comp These Takes”.
  2. Then I comp the takes
  3. Then I open the Track Version name and apply the command, “Duplicate This Version”. This results in a new Track Version, with a name something like, “Copy of Need to Comp These Takes”
  4. Then to this most recently created Track Version I apply the command, “Rename This Version”, and I choose a name something like “These Have Been Comped”.

My Feature request is to add a command to the option list that says, “Duplicate This Version, Then Rename It”, with the renaming dialog automatically opening allowing the user to type the new name.

One less step, essentially combining Steps 3 and Step 4 above into one.

I am interested in that macro too, so what would that be? I am useless on creating macros, i screw up all the time and nothing works

I haven’t done Macros much … looks like this is a good springboard to start doing so!
