Track with Melodyne extension is silent

I have Melodyne Studio so I can do polyphonic. I am using a Steinberg acoustic guitar strum sample, in musical mode. It plays back fine until I switch on the Melodyne extension. The blobs appear in Melodyne. I have snap to chord switched on in Melodyne, referencing the Cubase chord track. The chords in the Cubase chord track appear in Melodyne, with the white spaces in the right places showing the correct notes for the chords. The notes align into those white spaces as they should. The problem is that once I apply the Melodyne extension there is no longer any sound coming out of the track. I have noticed that in the pool, after I switch on the Melodyne extension, the sample is muted. That may be normal in that of course you wouldn’t want a sample in the wrong key to play while Melodyne is adjusting the sample, i.e. you just want the correct notes to come out of Melodyne. But even if I switch off the sample mute in the pool, no sound comes out of the track. If I switch off the Melodyne extension then the sample plays normally again. In Cubase preferences, Suspend VST plug-in processing is switched off, as suggested in some posts. Processing precision is on 32 bit (apparently 64 bit is a problem). So this seems to be a bug (which may have been around since Cubase 12 apparently). I am running Cubase 14. If this is not a bug, please let me know what I need to do to fix this issue.

Hmm, this may be related to the problem I’m getting with using clip fades whilst using the Melodyne Studio ARA extension. I’m getting strange volume problems with mine.

I’m going to do some tests today to try and find out what’s going on.
