It’s really a strange question to ask in Wavelab Forum but whatever works.
In a couple of days i’m sure you’ll have dozens of different answers, afterall, most DAWs do exactly the same but with different shortcuts and different graphics.
It’s all based on user preference.
I suggest you try yourself by downloading and installing a few that seem to be more “pleasing to the eye” as in the end, you’ll spend hours looking at it.
Still, to accomodate your request and launch you on the mission of “DAW searching” here goes:
. Nuendo - same “factory” as Wavelab.
. Reaper - least expensive and the graphics can be totally changed to some really beautiful GUIs.
. Adobe Audition - if you don’t need MIDI, there’s a B-side to Audition wich is very much a multitrack recorder. The A-side is a direct competitor to Wavelab as it does exactly the same stuff as WL.
. Logic - seems to be quite en vogue nowadays.
. Magix Sequoia - my favourite, the one i use. It’s similar to Nuendo but for me, it’s waaaaay better.
. Magix Samplitude . if Sequoia is Magix’s Nuendo then Samplitude is Magix’s Cubase. Same difference.
Good luck!
