Tracks out of sync when recording

I’ve been using Cubase artist 10.5 on my old stationary computer and it’s been working flawlessly.

A couple of days ago I bought a laptop so I can record wherever I want. I was very, very sure to check that the laptop met the Cubase system requirements in every way.

My problem is that when I have recorded one track and try to record a second track, it gets behind by half a second or so. I’m using a USB microphone that worked really good on my other computer. What can I do to fix this? I’ve not found any solution at all about this on the internet

I would try to test your system by using LatencyMon utility.

You can also try to trash Cubase preferences, to make sure to get factory settings.

Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% Steinberg/Cubase _X__64
