On Windows 7 x64, I have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of WL7 installed, but installed only the 64-bit version of WL8. Not a big deal, but it seems WL8 64-bit only transfers the settings from WL7 32-bit.
I noticed this because for quite a long time now I’ve only used the 64-bit version of WL7, and decided I don’t need the 32-bit version of WL8. The settings WL8 64-bit started up with were an old configuration that I hadn’t used since the last time I used WL7 32-bit.

Then WL8 did not bring across the Recording tab settings in VST Audio Connections from WL7 … it seems to have copied the Playback settings instead.
Certain parameters are not transferable, I don’t remember which ones.
I didn’t get any settings from WL7 in WL8. Fortunately I’ve recently tweaked the settings in WL7, so it was easy enough to set it up again. BTW, WL8 really looks a lot better than 7.
+1, sort of VS 2012? It also feels a lot snappier in many areas.
