Hi,
Got a new Laptop and want to transfer my Cubase 15 pro. Both current and new laptop have windows 11 on and my project files and sound files are safe on a separate ssd. So its just mainly Programmes and plugins and settings that need to be transferred over.
I’ve googled how to do this but want to be sure of the best and safest way to do this. Any help and advice welcome. Thanks

this will take care of the Cubase settings:
3rd party plugins must be dealt with separately because they all have different paths.
Also…
have a look here for the installed VST3 plugins → C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
And this presets folder → Documents\VST3 Presets
If you still use VST2 take a look at:
C:\Program Files\VST and C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VST plugins
Do you have a backup of your old laptop that you can access on your new system? (If not: why not?).
At the very least it is advisable to have a backup copy of your old “Documents”- and “%APPDATA%”- (“c:\Users\yourUsername\AppData\Roaming”) folders, since plugins tend to store their settings and presets in there and you never now what you might still need from that until exactly one day after you shredded your old laptop
