Hello! I saw some videos about transferring settings from one computer of Cubase to another computer by going to Profile Manager, exporting your profile, then importing it on the other machine.
I’m going from an Apple intel on Cubase 14 Pro over to an Apple M4 Silicon on Cubase 15 Pro.
I went to my first computer with Cubase 14 Pro, went to Profile Manager, and noticed it says “Default” with a checkmark next to it even though I have changed key commands and made macros. I hit “New” to create a new profile and named it accordingly. Then I exported it and put it on a thumb drive.
Then, I opened Cubase 15 Pro on the M4 computer, went to Profile Manager and imported the profile. I then quit Cubase 15 Pro and reopened it. Then when I opened a session, none of my key commands or macros or preferences in track colors or anything else was there.
Got ya! So, just to make sure, it appears the step I missed is that I made a “new” profile which is simply just default settings, so what I should have done is duplicated the currently selected profile (in my case, “default” with a check mark), then renamed it, then exported that, and that would be all of my settings? Am I understanding that correctly?
YES
Also, keep in mind: If you make some last minute changes in your current profile (the marked “default” one) they won’t be saved unless you quit Cubase and relauch it again.
Apart from that - spot on!
